My poetry collection "Granitäre Sonnenblümchen" puts my poetry from the last 15 years into the typographically enhanced spotlight: A lovingly designed home for lovingly rhymed words.
Behind the cryptic title "Granitäre Sonnenblümchen" lies my first poetry collection. After over 15 years of writing poems, in the fall of 2021, it seemed to me that the time had come to give my collected works an official home on paper. In contrast to most other poetry collections, the verses should not simply run page after page in justified text. Rather, the opportunity to publish a book was to be used to prepare the poems graphically and experimentally. Thus, while laying out the book, I once again engaged intensively with each poem's content—a thrilling endeavor, especially with older works, whose creation circumstances had partly faded into oblivion over the years—and subsequently found a typographic representation that gives the poem's meaning a deeper expression.
